Baptisms

The celebration of baptism typically takes place as part of our regular Sunday worship service.

We baptize people of all ages, from infants to adults.

We believe that baptism proclaims the love of God for all people, and is an act of welcome, blessing, and belonging.

Classes are held from time to time for parents seeking baptism for their children, or for adults seeking to be baptized themselves. Speak to our minister for more information.

Donate

Donations are now accepted by e-transfer directly to the Church's email address: office.stauc@shaw.ca

E-transfers are automatically deposited and will receive a charitable donation receipt in January for tax purposes.

If you donate through Canada Helps, your charitable donation receipt will be issued by the Canada Helps organization.

WEDNESDAY COFFEE & CONVERSATION

Every Wednesday at 9:00AM-11:30AM, St. Andrew’s United Church opens its doors for a free Community Coffee Time, welcoming people of all ages and backgrounds gather, relax, and enjoy good company. Guests are invited to share in live music, fresh coffee and tea, and a selection of muffins and treats – all in a warm, caring and fully inclusive environment. This outreach ministry is rooted in our commitment to offer a place of connection, conversation, and belonging for everyone in our neighborhood.

Whether you come often or are visiting for the first time, you’ll always find a friendly welcome here, at St. Andrew’s United Church Nanaimo! (Please note: Coffee Time pauses during Christmas break and the summer months of July and August).

Thrift Store

The St. Andrew’s Thrift Store is a fun, quirky and much-loved part of Nanaimo’s Old City Quarter.

Open Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 9:30am-3:30pm, our volunteer-run shop offers a wide variety of gently used women’s and men’s clothing, shoes, household items, small kitchen appliances, and books.

We gladly welcome donations of clean, gently used goods during store hours. Every purchase and every donation supports the St. Andrew’s United Church Building Fund, helping us care for and maintain our historic space.

Whether you’re treasure-hunting, browsing, or stopping by for a friendly chat, you’ll always find a warm welcome here.

COMMUNITY SUPPORTS

Weddings

Weddings are great celebrations of love and hope. As we are a community of faith, all of our wedding services include prayers, vows, readings, and references to God.

Our minister works with couples in helping you make your special day as memorable as we can, and will help customize content to suit you as a couple.

When planning your wedding, call or email us early in the process to secure your ideal date. Once the date is secured via a refundable deposit, our minister will meet with you to plan your ceremony.

FUNERALS & MEMORIAL SERVICES

Funerals and Memorial Services are as unique as the person’s life being celebrated and remembered. Our minister can assist you in planning a service for a loved one or in pre-planning your own funeral or memorial service.

A call to us when a loved one has died will open the door to support and comfort in your time of grief and loss. In addition to assisting you with the service, St. Andrew's United Church can also provide ongoing support in your time of grief.
