Compass Church

Vision: Compass Church recognizes that every person is invited by Jesus to follow Him through the journey of life as a disciple. Together, by the Holy Spirit, if we abide in Jesus we will grow to maturity. Mature believers are those who can say, "Follow my example as I follow the example of Christ." therefore, we seek maturity for every follower. (1 Cor 11:1)

We currently rent space for our Sunday Gathering at St. Andrew's United Church; at 311 Fitzwilliam St, Nanaimo. The facility is wheelchair accessible and there is parking on the side lot.

Please join us at 9am on Sundays for our weekly Gathering.

Call or email to book an appointment: 250-327-7305 or office@compasschurchnanaimo.com

Humble Harmony

Humble Harmony community song circle

Humble Harmony is a non-performing, informal community singing group, focused on the joy and connection of singing in harmony. Singing on Monday afternoons at St. Andrews hall, we are about 40 people of diverse age and singing experience, welcoming all voices. Instead of sheet music, we learn by ear in the oral tradition, incorporating creativity and movement. We sing songs and chants of peace, hope, healing and belonging, with harmony-rich layers that are easy to learn, and the occasional Beatles/ pop song. Join us at an upcoming drop-in event, and share the love of singing, and a cup of ginger tea during the break!

Humble Harmony is led by Sylvia Humble, known for her joyful, skillful and accessible songleading. The group is part of the Ubuntu Choirs Network, which believes that singing together is a universal human birthright and can change the world for the better.

Baptisms

The celebration of baptism typically takes place as part of our regular Sunday worship service.

We baptize people of all ages, from infants to adults.

We believe that baptism proclaims the love of God for all people, and is an act of welcome, blessing, and belonging.

Classes are held from time to time for parents seeking baptism for their children, or for adults seeking to be baptized themselves. Speak to our minister for more information.

Donate

Donations are now accepted by e-transfer directly to the Church's email address: office.stauc@shaw.ca

E-transfers are automatically deposited and will receive a charitable donation receipt in January for tax purposes.

If you donate through Canada Helps, your charitable donation receipt will be issued by the Canada Helps organization.
